Known today as a global fashion brand, Moscot’s story can be traced back to Hyman Moscot who arrived from Eastern Europe via Ellis Island in 1899. Moscot began selling ready-made eyeglasses on New York’s lower east side, and more than a century later, the family business is now run by the fifth generation of Moscots. The Moscot flagship store is still on Manhattan’s Orchard Street, and the Moscot Originals line is based on styles from the company archives between 1930 and 1970. Classic good looks and timeless design are faithfully reproduced to honor the true old-school colors first fabricated by the company decades ago. This New York City institution offers a wide range of styles ranging from the more traditional to contemporary interpretations of its iconic eyewear.
